Selflessness Will Bring Success Over Time
"Happiness doesn’t come through selfishness but through selflessness. Everything you do comes back around."
I've found that even though the platform is particularly attractive due to potential financial gains, Steemit is actually meant to be more about giving than receiving. Giving a compliment, resteeming, upvoting are always to encourage everyone that you will encounter on here. If you are new to Steemit you know the feeling of being overwhelmed with excitement and drawn in by the allure of getting recognized and getting as many upvotes as you can in each post as you watch your cents slowly grow to dollars (or so you hope).
I'm realizing that it is more gratifying to contribute to Steemit with the genuine intent to share my passion and learn about the passions of others. I think everything else is an added bonus in that it's great to get rich in material things but nothing replaces being rich in knowledge, experiences, and relationships. I understand Steemit to really be about building community and learning about others as they learn about you which will allow for you to share whatever creativity you have.
And eventually people will take notice of your genuine effort to grow on your own terms which will allow them to understand where you are coming from. For everyone one you see on here it took time to find the appreciation that we all seek, but such organic growth may prove to be the most gratifying. As for me personally I'm simply just navigating and observing what others have to offer and contributing as I go, motivated to just create daily, all in all this is just another valuable life lesson.
