One of our more challenging walks is the ascent up to the summit of el governador in the Sierra Gelada.
We make an early start to avoid the heat of the day and the over-powering sun.
The path starts off gently but narrows into stone steps and then eventually you are scrambling up over rocks.
Luckily the path is now marked but in previous years we would often get lost - all part of the adventure.
As we climb higher the views become more impressive.
Just over 2km later we find ourselves at the 438m summit looking over the imposing cliffs which hang high above the Mediterranean Sea. On occasion we have seen some of the resident Peregrine falcons here (the fastest birds in the world) but it wasn't to be this morning!
Here's a panoramic shot from coast to the mountains inland (my goal is to climb that big one in the middle).
To finish with a selfie - as you can see I'm not very good at them!
All photos taken with an iPhone 6s Plus. Stay tuned for part 4! Thanks for reading.
