This country has always been very, or I shouldn't say always, has been very good about that in the last 70 years. They have not pushed back against people just trying to live their lives. That change has been very positive in American culture.
Barack Obama tried to destroy it all and got very close to doing so, and now we're pulling away from it. They just want to be able to do what they want to do every day and not have to worry about government to the point that they don't even pay attention enough on a day-to-day basis how it's affecting them. They are slow on the uptake in that regard, but they always come around.
But also, too, Jen, Target, Ford, Maybelline, Bud Light, remember that? They all lost a ton of money, and it was downward pressure not just from the government. It was BlackRock, Vanguard, State Street, DEI, ESG, Pride, all of that. They all lost, all the companies, retail, manufacturing, they lost big money on this.
It was just announced, if you guys remember that weird Jaguar ad that came out maybe a couple of months ago? It was just reported that Jaguar sales were down 92% now. Hakeem Jeffries just gave the clip of the speech, y'all. He said, I really wish that there were folks in this town who would just stop lying.
He really needs to stop looking in a mirror. God. God.
I have to say, I have a visceral response every time he goes after Medicaid. He is scaring people. When they go after Medicare, they are scaring vulnerable people.
Going after Social Security, they are scaring vulnerable people who paid into it. I am exhausted from that. He is frightening people.
Here in Asheville, when they did the protests, like everybody else around the country, everybody was like 65 and above. They went into assisted living homes here in Asheville to drag them out, because if they did, they were going to lose their Social Security and Medicare. That's what I'm tired of.
