The picture above was taken April 2012 around the peak of my rave DJ career. In a matter of a year or so I'd turned myself from a nobody to one of the most celebrated local DJ's in the scene. I'll never forget this night. It was the first time I'd ever spun vinyl records in front of a live dance floor. Before then I'd strictly used MIDI controllers or time vinyl setups.
If you've never DJ'd before it's hard to explain the magic that takes place when you get 2 circular chunks of plastic spinning at just the right speeds with the right sound EQ to make a good mix. While I believe anyone that can count to 4 can DJ with the modern setups and indicators given it's pretty easy to separate the boys from the men when you stick a "DJ" in front of an analog mixer and 2 turntables.
Feeling a bit in the dumps tonight, But going back and looking at my old photos certainly perked me up a bit and I figured I'd share this memory with our STEEM network.
We all have come from different walks of life with varying degrees of difficulty.. None of that really matters at the end of the day. The important thing is we are still here and capable of reaching potentials far greater than we are achieving now. Have a good one folks.
