My twins four years ago - happiness at its purest
Looking through my pictures, I came across this one and I got stuck on it. Looking at any picture of my kids makes me happy, but when I looked at this it made me feel this child like happiness. It was almost as if I could feel how they felt in that picture.
Then I realized how many of us say how we wish we could be kids again with the most obvious reason being there for the most part isn't a worry in the world then. I started thinking when did that curiosity and that joy start turning into stress and unhappiness? The answer-when we all start growing up..that's because we go through the years being stripped of what we think we can do and how we should act in society.
We begin putting ourselves and eachother in categories and try to find where we belong-even though we probably could have figured it out better without anyone's help. That confusion leads to anger, hopelessness, and unhappiness. We're adults now right? We're supposed to have it all figured out and be apart of "the thriving societies" right?
Have you ever noticed some of the happiest times you can remember are when you were a child. You did things just for the fun of it, not the reward. Maybe that's why when we're with our kids or with other young ones it brings us such joy because we look at them with amazement of knowing they are still these wonderful, magical, happy, and carefree litttle beings.
Maybe if you have the chance, be silly with your youngsters for a little while and never lose that unlimited child happiness inside of you :) and don't let anyone make you feel bad about it!
Love to you all
