Very late last night I was thinking about a serious post, something about religion - but it’s obvious that’s not gonna happen, at least not today, since I’m stuck on the island of good intentions, a place I visit often (see meme below).
So I’ve settled on something I can at least pretend to be useful - cleaning up my laptop, because the picture files have become unmanageable. I’m a very messy person by nature, but I try to keep my computer as clean as possible, otherwise I’m afraid it’s going to start lagging and freezing more than usual…
The folder I keep part of the images used in my posts now contains more than 1000 items… then there are all those random photos and memes saved for posts I might want to write someday. Ideas I got excited over, toyed with them for a bit in my head and.. forgot about them. A while ago I used to write down random post ideas in a notebook or left post-it notes to myself. After a while they became too many and some quite baffling. ’Second-hand lives’ - what the hell was that supposed to be about? One day I threw everything out…
Now I need to free some space on my laptop, create a brand new Steemit folder and start the new year with a bang… or a thump… or a fizzle, God knows.
So it’s winter cleaning. Everything must go!
Will I ever need to use this meme below - everybody already knows I’m quite skeptical…
Or this nice quote about children? But then I’ve written many times about children and the abuse perpetrated upon them by public schooling. I will come back to the subject eventually, but for now I can get rid of these images.

This one, too - I tend to rant often enough about people wasting their lives…
Or this - I’ve already used it on Facebook and didn’t get many likes… I wonder why?!
The good part is that I’m in no danger of ever being without images as long as I use other social media. Just had a look on my FB feed and saw this cool pic of a Christmas tree made of books, obviously posted by someone who doesn’t read anything but what’s on social media. In fact I was wondering the other day about this - does reading a few random posts and quotes on Facebook count as reading these days? Do people actually believe they’re reading if they’ve liked a few smart quotes?
Could very well be…
Enough work for today… it’s the holidays after all…
