I have a friend that I call Mabait.
There is a creature lurking inside our house. I cannot catch him; not even my husband can. Mabait is too fast and alert compared to the two of us. He runs away when he knows that I am somewhere near him.
Mabait always runs around here and there. I often ignore him and let him do his own routines, and tell him that we are friends. One time, my husband saw Mabait and threatened him by saying that a cat will kill him if he won't stop roaming around our kitchen.
Of course, Mabait didn't take that threat lightly. When I woke up the next day, he surprised both me and my husband.
Revenge is sweet.
Mabait didn't like the threat of a cat coming to get him. With that, I woke up to this cooling box of my husband's which was bitten by Mabait. Interestingly, this box is where my husband would store his pets' feeds and medicines.
This is an amazing form of vengeance for someone like Mabait: he painstakingly chose one of the important things that my husband uses. This only proves that even animals have their own instinct to let us know that they are creatures that must be treated the same way we are.
Now here's for sure: Mabait is smart and conniving. He sure made up for his lack in size.
Lesson learned:
Be kind to animals (even if they are rats or mice), give them respect, and let them live lives of their own. If you give them respect, they will respect you back.
