Node can be computers, laptops or servers. There are three types of nodes in Hive:
- Witness Nodes: producing and signing blocks, providing price feed, validating transactions.
- Seed Nodes: network entry points, connecting the freshly started node by peer-to-peer (P2P) connections.
- API Nodes: with an open remote procedure call (RPC) port, i.e., data (such as account transaction histories) on the network can be accessed by external application software.
Hive has four hierarchical keys: Owner Key (accounts, setting passwords), Active Key (transferring funds, voting), Posting Key (broadcasting posting transactions) and Memo Key (decrypting encrypted messages). When I signed up Ecency, I only got one key ( I think it is owner key.), so I have no idea of other three keys. Maybe you'll get the full sets of keys when you signed up other Hive Dapps. At very beginning, I naively thought I could use this key to sign in all other Hive Dapps (for example, PeakD, Discord and etc.). Look likes it is impossible.
Account recovery! This one is very important. Never thought an account can be recovered if it is compromised. Yes, it can be done if the period between the recovery and the password change or owner key regeneration is less than 30 days. Here is the link showing you how:

Voila.
