On the north coast, about 18 km northeast of Ponta Delgada, lies the small, but rich town of Ribeira Grande, picturesquely located on a volcanic plateau above the sea.
This beach (Praia de Santa Bárbara) between two monumental cliffs, with 2 km in lenght is breathtakig. We visited jt just for a short time, but had a chance to enjoy it.
The town’s charming historic centre, whose narrow streets as well as the municipal garden are just beautiful too.
It's truly amazing how Azores fascinates you.
