By knowing the ideal body weight, it will facilitate us in the control. There are several ways to measure the ideal body weight that we can do, including the ways - how to measure the ideal body weight as below:
- BBI / WEIGHT IDEAL
The formula of this BBI is as follows:
BBI = 90% (height-100)
Example:
The height of a person is 180 cm, then the ideal weight based on the calculation of BBI is: 90% (180-100) = 72 kg.
BBI Terms:
> 10% of BBI: overweight
> 25% of BBI: obesity, for women
> 30% of BBI: obesity, for men
- BBR / RELATIVE WEIGHT
The formula of this BBR is as follows:
BBR = Weight (kg) / Height (m) 2 then multiplied by 100%
BBR Terms:
Normal weight ---> 90% - 100%
Overweight ---> 110% - 120%
Obesity --->> 120%
- IMT / MASS INDEX BODY
The formula of the IMT is as follows:
IMT = Weight, kg / Height, m2
IMT Terms:
Normal ---> <25
Obesity --->> = 25
