What's with the name, Mr. Wildenfree?
So... Here I am, presenting myself to you as “Mr. Wildenfree”. I must admit, it sounds like a pretty funny name! All the more reason as to why I took to it so kindly. A good friend of mine, Donavon, aka Klass, once called me this. I sat with it for some time before I finally said — "That’s the one”. The name Wildenfree hit so many checkpoints for me, which I will break down for you to get a better sense of the meaning behind it.
THE WILD
“The Wild” is the Ego. It is the darker parts of the mind; the overly analytical & indecisive self-doubt. It is the insecurities & critical contemplation of one’s self & the lives around them. It is the stoic forever in motion. It is the Hopeless Romantic. It is the nonchalant procrastinator, most susceptible to being a "drifter".THE FREE
“The Free” is the liberated hippie — an uncouth & boundless free-spirit that simply lives as it pleases, constantly. It is the spiritually open & unconditionally vulnerable lover; the feeling & the faith-based portion of one’s self. It is the hedonist. It is also the carefree yet decisive risk-taker, & the very frank asshole. The most important message I wish to impart about this duality, is that they are INSEPARABLE. One cannot go without the other. It is from their combination that all possibility is conceived. Now, there are many things in our society that try to compartmentalize these two halves, making it seem as if it should be one or the other in many cases. My experiences tell me otherwise. Even so, I respect the opinions of those that follow such a structure, for my opinion could not exist without their own — marinate on that. In conclusion, Wildenfree represents two conjoined aspects in an eternal dance where balance is the ultimate goal. It is my belief that God is Balance. Yet our existence here is to explore the energy in motion — the emotion — that is the dance betweenThe Wild & The Free.
Here’s to letting your soul roam Wildenfree!
All the Best,Mr. Wildenfree
