Ok, so I’ve been surfing around and I come across the EOS Network and Lynx Wallet, it’s awesome, but it did make me wonder about the kind of apps that are easily available within the ESO Network.
After registering a Lynx Wallet address (which cost me $3 AUD) I started checking out the kind of apps it is promoting. Unlike the Ethereum Dapp environment where they really promote casual games and finance apps, the EOS network heavily promotes gambling.
It was only 5 mins into using the app, and suddenly I’m claiming free EOS in a gambling game to roll some dice. Once I started playing the game I noticed the minimum EOS bet is 0.1 and most people are betting 1 EOS which currently holds a total value of $6 AUD. That’s more expensive than playing the pokies at the pub.
My concern with the EOS network is how easy it was to setup an account and start gambling away $6 hits on virtual dice.
So to answer the question, is the EOS network easy for kids to access? The answer is no, it’s not that simple…
Most exchanges are starting to fall into regulation and KYC (identity, country and age verification) is mandatory for creating a database for any upcoming investigations.
If you're an adult you can do it within a minute on Coinbase, it really is that easy. If you have an addictive personality with gaming and/or have a gambling problem then maybe you might want to stay away from this one. At least walking down to the pub requires effort, this you literally pull out your phone and you're at the slots.
The EOS network is growing rapidly and with some casual games coming out like Prospectors, but as you can see in the Dapp Review it is still heavily influenced by gambling.
My advice with gambling crypto, you will probably regret it later when EOS is $50 each and you could have retired on what you gave to virtual dice.
