It seems that the company wants to gain some credibility.
The people of Kaspersky Lab have had a very heavy year, after serious accusations that it could have some link with the group of Russian hackers responsible for the last major computer attacks in history.
Now, as a measure to ingratiate, the company has apparently launched Kaspersky Free for the United States, where they offer a totally free, robust digital security platform against viruses, malware, worms and all kinds of threats.
The announcement was made by Eugene Kaspersky himself through his personal blog, where he had the detail to warn that it is actually a trimmed version of his paid version, which can analyze the computer and protect it from viruses , But nothing more.
As you can see in the interface window, parental control, privacy protection, and the extra layer of security when shopping online are maintained as exclusive features for premium users.
Eugene himself points out that Kaspersky Free would work perfectly as an add-on for Windows Defender, as it would add an additional layer of security to the computer, although it is advisable to pay for the full version.
It should be noted that this is not an impromptu project, since the company would have more than a year and a half working on this program, releasing its first versions in Ukraine and Russia a long time ago.
For this second stage of expansion, US users will be able to download Kaspersky Free today. People in Latin America will have to wait until September to take the risk.
