My wife was born in the Seychelles - paradise approx 1,500 kms west off the coast of Africa. In April 2016, on the way home from a business conference in Spain, I stopped in Dubai and my girlfriend at the time met me there and we flew down to the Seychelles.
Unbeknown to her at the time was that I was planning to propose to her while in the Seychelles. She always told me that a beach called Anse Source d'Argent on the isle of La Digue was on National Geographic's No 1 position for most photographed beaches in the world. So that's where I wanted to propose.
After a series of very humorous events to get to the island including locking my luggage in the car rental and island hopping using a plane and boat, we finally go to our destination.
I proposed and she said yes!
We then turned around and were blessed to experience the most amazing sunset we ever witnessed. We spent the first 15 minutes of our engaged life running around like crazy teenagers to capture this kaleidoscope of colour which marked the day we pledged our love to one another.
