Some of these trailers are just as interesting to look at as the cars.
Many of the cars are too low to the ground and too long to load and unload from a conventional trailer. Owners often times have to build a custom trailer to get their race vehicles moved.
This trailer has torsional stub axles. The axles don't extend across the trailer and it has no bottom. It has removable cradle that the bike sits on. There are winches on top to lift the entire bike. The cradles are removed and the bike then can be set on the ground. The winches are also used to lift the entire body off of the bike.
Danny Thompson had a trailer that would sit on the ground. It used air bags to lower the trailer onto the ground.
This is the trailer for the Speed Demon. This one also uses airbags to lower the trailer onto the ground, but this one is a tongue pull with an air bag to lower the tongue.
This trailer had no bottom. It uses a rigid sling to attach to the car and winches to lift and lower.
This trailer used hydraulics instead of airbags. Even the gooseneck would lift and lower by hydraulics.
