I work away from home which means staying away from home 2 or 3 nights a week every week. Until recently I was staying with a buddy of mine but circumstances changed and I therefore needed to find an alternative. Hotels are far too expensive and I can't get my head around renting a room on a permanent basis. We recently moved 150 miles from where I'd lived for nearly 40 years - settling has been difficult as I'm away so often so having to homes isn't really on the agenda.
Step in AirB&B.
In short an App based service which allows people with space in their home to market the selves for Bed and Breakfast services.
I just used the service for the first time and it is a revelation. I stayed with a lady and her two dogs for a few nights. She was generous with her space, that is she didn't mind me sitting and watching little TV and liked a chat. The room was very comfortable, house was clean and cost me about 15 to 25% of local hotels. A fantastic thing.
I'm booked up in various locations for the next 5 or so weeks.
