I do have a question. I think one of the things that everybody in every state is suffering from is the lack of accountability for our elected officials who do all sorts of crazy things. And they never really.
So my question, I guess, is, do you have any ideas on how to combat that like Karen Bass? I mean, California has a whole host of issues in that regard. Well, I totally agree with you. And Karen Bass, the most egregious example, I mean, this person who, you know, let's just go back to the start of the year.
Right. She's she's responsible for a huge part of why we have that fire disaster. Not just the actual response, you know, the empty fire hydrants, the empty reservoirs, the failure to deploy the fire service properly, all of those things.
But also the run up to it, the fact that they didn't manage the fuel load on the hills there, they let it get overgrown. They were actually fining residents who tried to do the responsible thing and protect their property. So all of that and no accountability.
That's why I actually right at the beginning of the year was working with Nicole Shanahan. She's a friend of mine. We live near each other in the Bay Area to recall Karen Bass.
To your point, you can't just have this monumental failure and no accountability. So we got all that going. I put some money in work, work together on it very intensely for a month or so.
And then unfortunately, we basically Rick Caruso in L.A. came out against the recall of Karen Bass. He was the guy that most people were looking to to replace her. So it really took the wind out of the sails of that effort.
But I think that the biggest accountability is going to be defeating these people next year. That's why we've got to really, really believe. I do believe that we can win in California, that I can win.
Yeah, those are some great points. Steve, Mike Mack here. Good to have you in the space, brother.
