I must say that the part where I was staying was completely boring, so everything I have written about Brisbane at night - just forget it. There are some interesting stuff.
Of course, night life can't be compared to the one in Belgrade for example, but still the city is not that dead, even tho I had trouble finding walking people around midnight, there were some runners and bicycle lovers, but no people coming home drunk from the night out or stuff like that. The only night when you could see people out, yelling and drunk was the night of the State of Origins (The most important "rugby" match in Australia).
Anyways, during one of the late night walks to the hotel, I came across lime, an electric scooter - conveniently left out on the walking path, without any protection (It wasn't the first one I saw actually) - strange thing. I looked around there was no one, and scooter in the middle of nowhere, let's ride it said the voice inside my head!
10 meters later the bloody thing starts beeping so noisy... I continued for another 40 meters and abandoned the bastard. Let's be clear - My intentions were to get maybe 500m down the river and leave it there since I would leave the running/cycling pathway. Anyways 2 days later I actually investigated a bit more about the scooters - apparently it costs about $1 to unlock the scooter (to stop beeping) and then per $0.3 per minute. Imagine a bit more than 1 steem per minute. THAT'S TOO MUCH if you ask me! :)
