Hello Hive,
My name is Thomas, I just created my first blog on hive last night, and have already gotten so many great comments from this community so I guess it would only be fair to let the community know a little bit about myself. BTW the little guy I'm holding is Charlie.
I got involved with Hive blogs and the hive blockchain as a whole through playing Splinterlands. I had some interest in Crypto and have always been an avid gamer so when I read an article about how Splinterlands merged the two I was in. I started playing just about two months ago, so I am still incredibly new but I have been loving the game. I also am so happy I found such a robust community surrounding the game.
My first post was to enter the weekly art contest that Splinterlands does, you can see my entry at the link below:

I have always enjoyed art, though I have never really done anything with it formally before. I have always used it as a de-stressor. As a gamer I have played my share of table top RPGs and used to spend hours painting miniatures. Not so much anymore since Charlie has knocked the paints off my table more than once when jumping on my lap :) Fortunately digital media is also an option. I grew up playing the 8 and 16 bit games of Nintendo and super Nintendo and have always love the pixelated art that they used in those games. the idea that you could do so much with so little always intrigued me and I have always enjoyed making my own pixel art, though until now that was just for myself.
In the non-digital world I work in transportation. for a Class 1 Freight Railroad. I am also the local Chairman for my Union (some other crafts call it a shop steward) and have about 125 members who I am responsible for.
Again, I cannot thank this community enough for the warm words and encouragement that I have already received. Stay tuned and hopefully you will get to see a lot more of me and the world of pixilation
And also a thank you to &
from OCD for getting me to do this write up.
