I've been doing the 10,000 steps a day walk. I am fortunate to live in a hilly area so I actually get exercise while walking.
I've found that two loops around Olympus Hills Park uses about 9,000 steps. The main loop around the park has a few sets of stairs.
As I understand, this areas was actually a collection of sand dunes when the settlers first moved into the area. Once the valley was full of homesteads, the dune building action stopped and the dunes became overgrown.
This first picture shows the stairs on the North end of the park:
The second picture shows the lower section of stairs which were behind me when I took the first picture.
I stopped to smell the Mountain Mahogany during my walk. Mountain Mahogany is a rugged mountain dwarf tree that grows in interesting looking gnarls.
This final shot shows steps on the South End of the Park. The park is a favorite haunt of snowboarders in the winter and they ride the handrails ... until the handrails give in. Note, I came down these stairs; so they don't really count as part of the walk. Unless, of course, I reverse my direction around the park.
PS: My account is still recovering from my voting frenzy at the beginning of the week. I temporarily had a 1000 HP delegation. I made about 5 HP during the first week of the delegation. I look forward to seeing the result of the upvote frenzy. My guess is that it is possible to make about 7 HIVE by renting a 1000 HP delegation for a week.
