One of the difficult decisions I have to make as a realtor is who I "hang my license with". The is the term used for sales agents agreeing to work with a Broker. The Broker does many of the same things that agents do as well as oversee the transaction but not really, most say they will do a lot but don't. They are responsible for compliance with the state and national real estate laws and can be a drain on a sales agent's commissions so it's important to choose wisely.
I won't go into much detail about costs but the point is I changed my brokerage and remembering all the pains of doing so, this wasn't my first time making the change and probably won't be my last. I am burdened with some of the protocol as well as re-branding-- such as new signs, business cards, website, and marketing strategies. In the end it's worth the switch just to mix it up but each time I have done so I earn more money, I also switch to brokers that do less and less for me which is fine. The more I do the more I learn and require less and less help with each day that passes.
It is not without apprehension I am making this switch but I have to mix things because I have been getting a bit bored lately. On to the next chapter!
