Yesterday, I had to pick Micah up early from school. His daddy is out of town for a couple of days and I just couldn't pick up everyone and not be late picking Micah up from school. So I opted to check him out a bit early.
After I signed him out I went to his classroom and I met his teacher as she was walking back to class(her assistant was in the class with the kids)
Anyways, she was telling me she had to put Micah in a pull-up for nap time. He hadn't pottied all day. When they took them to the bathroom, Micah would not go in and cried really hard. They didn't make him. It's the noise. It echoes too much for him in there and then the automatic flushing. That also scares him!
We discovered back at Christmas time, during a trip to Texas. Micah does NOT like public bathrooms! In fact, at one stop I had to take him around behind the store to pee cuz he screamed so bad not wanting to go in. Which I don't blame him lol they can be scary. Anyways, when he went to test, we showed him his classroom, the bathrooms. Etc.. he was standoffish but didn't cry. When he actually started, that first day he didn't have any issues but after pottying, the toilet flushed and scared him. Then yesterday, he wouldn't go in there and cried.
I contacted my Aunt and she texted me back some ideas. Noise cancelling headphones and covering the sensors with toilet paper. I passed the info along to his teacher.
She asked me to contact the lady that over Micah's case to inform her, and if that was ok with her, she'd try that.
So that's what I did. Within a few minutes she contacted me and then another lady who worked with Micah last year for occupational therapy.
She was looking online to price them in order for when she got to school this morning, and let his "team" know.
I'm glad they're trying to make this the best possible experience for him. As that's been one of my(many) concerns.
Anyways, I'll let y'all know how it goes. Hopefully, the headphones will help.

Also, he covers his ears going down the road as we travel. The road noises bothers him.... Not enough to fuss or cry. But especially over bridges he covers them. Sometimes closing his eyes.
