Willis Carrier is one of my favorite people. I have prayed many times, and yes, many times, to thank God for Willis Carrier. If you don't know who he is, you had better stop for a second and appreciate the brain behind air conditioning. Sure, there have been many who came before and many who have come after that made air conditioning what it is today, but if I have to choose between hot and cold, I choose cold.
Hot vs Cold could mean anything, I could have chosen hot chocolate over cold chocolate milk, but I love air conditioning. I mean, I really really really really
really love air conditioning!
I could live in cooler climates...sure. I'd like that. However, air conditioning on a hot day? Can it get any better? Standing in line at Disney World under a cold air return? There's nothing like that refreshing feeling. Cold! I choose cold!
You can make your body warmer naturally. You can't make yourself cooler unless you do it artificially. To make myself warmer, I can curl up into a ball or hug myself. To make myself cooler, I need to strip to nothing and I could still be sweating my chest hairs off!
My wife? She loves the heat. Funny story:
Right after we got married, she was always complaining about how cold it was (It was late fall) and so I decided I would try to sweat her out in the car. It was kind...not a mean sweat out. I just wanted to see if she would ever get so hot that it would be uncomfortable. We sat in the car in our driveway with the heat turned up full blast. I was dying! She loved it! She even kept her jacket on the whole time, just smiling ear to ear. I decided...well...I guess you'll never be satisfied with the temperature...lol
Wanna know something else funny? When I was looking for pics for this post on Unsplash.com (where pics are creative commons, which means there is no copyright), I wrote the word "hot" and I started getting lots of pictures of women wearing little...I thought, "Why in the world am I getting these pictures of women showing up?!" Then I realized that I was too focused on hot and cold, in terms of temperature...hahaha...I was seriously wondering "What in the world?!" Silly me...
I'd prefer the cold, thank you very much! What about you? Do you have spells with your spouse over it being too cold or too hot in your house or do you generally agree with your spouse/partner/roommate? We do 72 in the summer (and my wife is "freezing") or 70 in the winter (and my wife is comfortable...go figure) lol
