#418 - Blue soil of Sagada.
They say that these blue soil we are seeing are all copper meaning this whole mountain or mountains since they are all close together are copper rich. However, the natives here value nature so much that they wanted it to be a tourists attraction site instead of allowing mining companies to take over. Which is a better choice in my opinion because nature will not be destroyed and people can still come here for a visit until the time someone decides to mine the mountains but I doubt it will be happening this century or the next. The locals here really value their natural resources a lot because this is the source of their livelihood. Sagada is a small village but thrived because of tourism, many residents here have improved their lives by catering services to tourists in many ways, some opens up eateries and some room rentals.
So moving on to the photos we took during the hike to see the blue soils. When we arrive at the part of the mountain which reveal the blue soil, it was already around eight in the morning and we started our hike around five.. took us a while to get here because there are also a great number of visitors that came out to see the fogs but didn't get here.. only half I think decided to push through getting at this last mile of the hike. They should have finished it because it is worth it seeing the soil and holding it in your hands.
As we can see in this photo no pines have grown so it reveals the color of the soil.
There's my wife she was a bit tired and hungry at this point already.😂
Our guide volunteered to take our shot here. Thanks to him we have a descent shot instead of all selfies.😄
My wife posing while balancing on her sitting squat. Other tourists are also seen in the background taking photos as memories.
I think these group of people are family or friends and they are taking photos as well on the lower part of the mountain.
Another shot of my wife posing while one of her foot is also pointing down, I don't understand why women do that?😂
Just some pine tree leaves.. so green I can breath it.
This is the group that is ahead of us and we had to overtake them because some are taking a while to walk.
