One of my fondest childhood memories was story time at school. I was in year 3 and our teacher Mrs. Rushton would set the last 15 minutes of school time aside to read Enid Blyton's The Magic Faraway Tree.
I remember she had the hardcover illustrated version of the book and I would sit up the front so I could see the pictures up close.
That was the first time I was exposed to magic of the written word and from that moment on I loved books.
I wanted to instill that love of books in Bella and we started reading to her months ago but it wasn't until recently that she's started reaching for her books and flipping through pages herself.
Her favourite books at the moment are the 'That's not my..' books
That's not my...
The 'That's not my...' books are simple yet beautiful. They teach babies through touch and word association.

Nose and fuzzy are the main focus here but you can expand by pointing out the mouse, clouds, mountains and the colours to stretch out the time spent with the book since there's only 5 double pages per book.
There's a few books in the series and all very cute and colourful.
At first I wasn't too sure about these since Bella didn't seem too interested but I think it's an age thing.
Now that she's more mobile and loves to touch everything these books have become her favourite thing.
She actually plays with the books more than her toys these days.
She'll flip the book, flip pages, touch all the textures. I point out colours, body parts like hair, ears, nose, horns etc.
Another thing I like about it is that it's a board book. Sure it's only 5 pages but it's nice and easy for little fingers to turn.
My only complaint?
I wish it rhymed. I like it when the books rhyme lol
Overall
I'm pleased that she loves them. There's a lot of teaching points to be found in 5 double pages which is pretty impressive. They're well made, cute and colourful and we are definitely buying more.
