So I bought a $1,000 suit on final sale from Bonobos for $200. It's a gorgeous copper-brown herringbone, with a light and breezy fabric, and quarter-lined to breathe even better in the summer.
Unfortunately, the size chart was wrong. The jacket was supposed to be 28 inches long, but it was only 25 inches long. So it's simply too short.
And they're out of stock on the next length up. I bought a 38S, but they don't have any 38R in stock.
I bought the suit on final sale - no returns or exchanges. Luckily, when I explained the issue, Bonobos immediately told me they would allow me to return it for a refund.
So kudos to Bonobos for good customer service.
The only experience worth barking about is that I really should be allowed to keep the suit since it's considered "defective."
To my pleasant surprise, Bonobos emailed me, saying that since the suit is defective, they'll refund me without asking for a return.
So they said I should keep this suit and donate it. Hopefully there's someone out there who has the same chest size as me but who is several inches shorter, who can wear this suit. Since the suit is supposedly defective, the I hope to order from them again in the future and receive a suit that fits better.
I think I want to donate it to a brick-and-mortar store where someone can try it on. This suit's length is so strange that I want to make sure that whoever ends up with it, knows what they're getting.
As for buying something else, I have to decide if Bonobos has anything else I want. I only wear double-breasted and three-piece suits.
