Juni
It's been a year since my journey in the world of bonsai started. Juni is the first bonsai and I tried to apply all the techniques possible to create a healthy and prosperous root system. Although, many techniques that I saw online suggested to avoid using the same soil a stock tree comes with when potting, I decided to just mix it with fresh potting soil. To commemorate its first year I decided to freshen up its soil and change a little bit its decoration.
Its root system was excellent, well-balanced roots with majority of them being thin and spread out.
I trimmed its roots in a radial shape in order to keep that nice root system balance. It won't hurt it much since spring will make it grow faster.
Here's the final result. The previous river stones were changed to moss making it to resemble more like a tree in nature. In the last picture you can notice a hanging external root, I left it that way because it gives it more character in my opinion. All of this is done so the tree can grow healthy and faster. Now it's time to let it settle in the soil and watch it grow.
