The book was incredible even though it hurts me so much. The author wrote the book in an understandable way. I love the character development of each character how they change in every situation. The book is so realistic it breaks the norm of the typical romance books we know. I really thought that this book is a cliche love triangle of Atlas, Ryle, and Lily. Little did we know we are reading a book that was somehow experienced by the mother of the author. The book successfully delivers an important message about domestic violence. it's a CYCLE and IT MUST END.
I admire Lily's character, how her character develops into something braver and firm in her decisions. We can't deny the fact that Lily's situation when she was still a child was really bad when you're parents are fighting. You got to hear everything and all you can do is listen. The feeling is you just want to disappear at that moment. The trauma will hunt you until you grew up. And wishing that someday you wouldn't end up like that. I know because somehow I experience those at home. Back to Lily, I admire her decision to have a divorce with Ryle even though her child will experience a different setup with her parents. She just wants the best for her child to not experience what she already experience.
'IT STOPS HERE WITH ME AND YOU IT ENDS WITH US' -LILY BLOOM
I also appreciate Ryle's character how he turned into something abusive has reasons but just like Lily said it was not enough to hurt her. Ryle's character is well established in the first part of the story. A neurosurgeon that has a goal of being the best in that field. He hates having a girlfriend and children because he thinks that it is just a hindrance to his career. ' Everyone can be married, Everyone can have a child but not everyone can be a neurosurgeon.' Ryle's charm is undeniable in the first chapters everyone really can fall in love with him but later on, he turns into an abusive husband that promises to never do it again but ofc does it again. IT' S A CYCLE.
Atlas was the good boy of every story. In typical stories, he's the second lead that is never chosen by the leading character. BUT THE STORY IS CLOSE TO REALITY WE ALL WANT SOMEONE WHO LOVES US MORE THAN WE DESERVE AND THAT'S ATLAS. His story is inspiring because of hard work he was able to make his life better.
Overall the story was incredibly fine. How brave is the author to write these kinds of stories that break the norm. This book screams how brave a woman is and how a woman can sacrifice anything for her children. LASTLY, IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT TO FALL IN LOVE WITH THE WRONG PERSON.
I read the book using the app ReadEra. I first downloaded the book on_** z.lib org **_there are hundreds of books available there, you can get it for free.
