Lubię twórczość pisarską Neala Stephensona. Tu jednak przeszedł sam siebie akcja powieści rozciągnięta na ponad 1000 stron - ok.
Bohaterowie są jakby płytcy, zarysowani - czuje się jakbym czytał czyjeś sesje gier fabularnych - wiem że GRR Martin ze znajomym kegiem autorów dokonał takiego cyklu (Dzikie Karty) - co mnie całkowicie nie przekonało.
Mam poniekąd nauczkę żeby nie zawsze zakładać że dany autor trzyma dosyc równy poziom (tak jak z "Cari Mora" T. Harrisa już jednak nie da się chyba sparzyć)

Polecam Reamde - powieść jak ktoś zauważył z gatunku najpewniej Slapstickowego thrillera (akcja, szpiegostwo, coś tam na doczepkę z mechaniką świata mmorpg) osobom które mają za dużo wolnego czasu, lubią militaria.

Jakkolwiek wszystkie składowe powinny dla mnie zagrać idealnie - znacząca cześć dzieje się w kontynentalnych Chinach (fragmenty an Tajwanie) .
Tytułowe REAMDE to MMO którego autorem jest jeden z głównych bohaterów - ale czytanie o grze tego typu (jakkolwiek mimo znawstwa wydumanej) nie jest tak fajne jak klikanie w nią w rzeczywistości.
Może błędem było czytanie tego w biurze czekając na klientów tam wszystko wydaje się nudniejsze - ale nie wyobrażam sobie żebym poza tą sytuacją dobrnął do kresu lektury .
Żałuję, że nie poświeciłem tego czasu i energii na np Dostojewskiego czy inną Wojnę i Przedpokój .

I like Neal Stephenson's writing. However, here the action of the novel stretched over 1,000 pages - approx.
The characters are somewhat shallow and sketchy - I feel like I'm reading someone else's role-playing game sessions - I know that GRR Martin and his group of authors made such a series (Wild Cards) - which didn't convince me at all.
I have learned a lesson not to always assume that a given author is of a fairly equal standard (as with "Cari Mora" by T. Harris, however, it is probably impossible to compare)

I recommend Reamde - a novel, as someone noticed, probably in the genre of a slapstick thriller (action, espionage, something with the mechanics of the mmorpg world) for people who have too much free time and like military stories...
However, all components should sound perfect for me - a significant part takes place in mainland China (parts in Taiwan).
The title REAMDE is an MMO created by one of the main characters - but reading about a game of this type (however fanciful it may be) is not as fun as clicking on it in real life.
Maybe it was a mistake to read it in the office while waiting for clients, where everything seems more boring - but I can't imagine that apart from this situation I would have read it to the end.
I regret that I did not devote this time and energy to, for example, Dostoyevsky or another War and Anteroom.
