I finished up Warbreaker by Brandon Sanderson tonight. I'm a big fan of Brandon Sanderson and have read most of his work, still have a few more to read but I'm getting there. Warbreaker ranks as one of my favorites out of Sanderson's novels.
Warbreaker is a fantasy novel with a very political vibe to it. I won't go straight out and call it political fantasy since most of the characters seem to be trying to avoid all the politics going on around them. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the parties in the novel plotting and working to undermine each other. The twists mostly caught me off guard and really helped to pull me even further into the novel. The three main characters all underwent huge transformations from their experiences throughout the story. It was interesting to watch how each experience changed them and it was nice to have a story where the characters did develop significantly. Often novels get stuck in what the characters are supposed to be and Warbreaker was a refreshing detour from the norm in that regard.
I believe you can actually read Warbreaker straight from Brandon Sanderson's website for free. If you've never read any of his work, I'd highly recomend checking it out.
