I recently started reading the book “Turtles All the Way Down” by John Green. I have not yet finished it, what with my preoccupation with compiling ENGLISH IDIOMS posts and other translation tasks, but I thought I’d write a few words about this excellent book.
One of the interesting points about this book is the presentation of an almost clinical case of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, together with Irritable Bowel Syndrome. The protagonist is a young girl with these two psychiatric disorders, as well as bouts of anxiety disorder.
Anyway, if you are interested in young adult novels interspersed with some medical information, this book could be for you. I hope I will write more about this book in a future post.
P.S.—I don't usually read a lot of young adult novels these days, but I have mostly liked the few ones that I did read. In 1997, I translated the book Kim and the Buried Treasure by Jens K. Holm into Persian, which was published in Shiraz.
