Reading goals
Even though I didn't complete my Goodreads goal for 2025. that didn't stop me from creating one for this year! My goal for last year was to read 25 books and I've only managed to read 14 and for this year I decided to go for 26 just because it matches the year we're in, lol. I got this little wooden decorative thing from Temu to count how many books I've read (even though I keep the record on Goodreads as well) and as you can see I haven't finished a single book and we're already in February! But I am fixing that these days as I am slowly getting back to reading... So in February I am expecting to pick up reading on a regular basis and finish a couple of books at least.
10 books from my collection I would love to read this year
With over 90 unread books in my collection and my reading pace, I am set for the year to come even if I don't buy a single book. Having zero control in the past couple of years when it comes to book shopping, I have accumulated a decent collection of books but I definitely wasn't reading as much as I was buying. This had to be stopped so I am kind of on a buying ban, there are some books I am planning to get on a book fair next month but other than that, I'll try my best to limit buying and focus on reading this year.
Having this many options can be overwhelming a lot of times so I picked 10 books I would love to tackle this year and it has some variety when it comes to genres which should cover all my reading moods... Here's what I picked:
- Agota Kristof - The Notebook Trilogy
- Mikhail Bulgakov - The Master and Margarita
- Fyodor Dostoevsky - Notes from Underground
- Daphne du Maurier - Rebecca
- Madeline Miller - The Song of Achilles
- Victoria Hislop - The Island
- Tara Westover - Educated
- A.J. Finn - The Woman in the Window
- Claudia Pineiro - A Little Luck
- Arnon Grunberg - Tirza
<p<>div class="text-justify"> There's some titles that go with designated seasons, for example I am planning to read M. Miller and V. Hislop in the summer and Rebecca seems like a great choice for autumn. Of course, if I feel like reading something else from my collection, I'll definitely do so but these are my main focuses throughout the year as I would really love to narrow down my TBR this and next year.
