I've pared down a lot of my belongings over the last eighteen months, with the exception being books. They are so useful to me - filled with knowledge and available right there any time I want to revisit them. They inspire me, they comfort me, and can be like a dear friend when I just need to get away from the world outside. Books definitely spark joy in my life.
The best part of moving (yes, yes, still more moving posts) was getting to re-shelve and re-situate books!!!!!!!!!!
They had been living across four separate bookcases, and some on the floor. This new place came with two huge bookcases, plus two smaller ones that I brought with me. Now, most of them are ready to show off (art books are still waiting to be placed).
this is only about 75% of the books, but you get the idea
maybe you can tell where my immediate interests are
GAAAAAAAARDENING BOOKS! PLANTS!
beautifully done, totally worth that three hours
bonus bookcase - these are mostly non-fiction, brain science books. plus some really OLD OLD books that i can't help but purchase when they call to me
They're organized by subject, then sorta by size, and sometimes by colour. Having the display of the books tell a story, in and of itself, is important to me. You can tell a lot about a person by the books that they keep!
