Highly improbable events, Taleb has coined as "black swans," that cannot and will not be predict happen, some happen rarely while others occur more frequently, and some are positive others are negative. Knowing that these events are possible lessens their negative effects on us and lets us use the positive ones. Earlier I was responding to
's post Your favorite quote and this gave me the idea to do a review of one of my favorite book written by my favorite author : Albert Camus.
When Gallimard published "L'étranger"/"The stranger" in 1942, Albert Camus was not yet thirty years old. The critic of the time welcomes this short novel, the first of the tetralogy "The cycle of the absurd", without enthusiasm and yet seventy years later this book is by far the best known of the Nobel of literature. read more......

DO "EVIL BOOKS" REALLY EXIST?

Someone once said to me "dont read that book, its evil", referring to a book that shall remain nameless, but had symbols on the front that triggered this sheeps fear. He didnt recognize them, so of course they were evil.
Shit, I think that the McDonalds logo is evil as well as MTV and the Facebook thumb, and I have good fucking reason; not ignorance. If I saw those logos on a book cover, I wouldnt touch it. read more......
