Road Working the Boulder
In Alaska, as in many place summer is the big road work construction season. Unlike the lower 48 when they can delay work until the tourist season ends, not possible in Alaska. The first two pictures you see were taken through a dirty vehicle window, so not the best quality.
They like to try and keep the dust down and the dirt off the road, so they are constantly washing the road, and making people use up all their windshield wiper fluid. I think they are in cahoots with the makers of said fluids. In this first picture you can see them scraping the hill out and a few of the boulders they have unearthed.
Here we have a slightly closer view of one of the nicer sized boulders they have unearthed. A pretty nice sized specimen, you can see they even gave it a red flag, I think they must of had plans to transplant that boulder somewhere else. Maybe one of the workers needed a nice one for his driveway, or a businessman saw it and thought perfect no more people making my store a drive through.
Well could not just throw up a few uglyish boulder shots, when so many of them are so well done. I am still new to photography and to some of these challenges and have not had my camera that long, although going on one year now. So here from the same smartphone, just down the road aways, through a slightly clean windshield, one of the smaller mountains and some fall coloring.
No lives were endangered while taking these pictures from the vehicle, I was the passenger. Did you notice the tags? Also why is uglyish not in the dictionaries? It has been in use for a lot of years. I am old and it was being used when I was a kid. I mean a simple meaning, "almost ugly but not quite there yet". Oh well another of those lifetime mysteries that will never be solved.
