The Story of Stuff Project is organizing a global clean up and brand audit of plastic waste! September 10-16, you can join, organize, or do an individual brand audit where you live, and help hold the manufacturers accountable for the waste their products generate.

Basically, it means that you do a litterwalk, and keep a log of all the plastic trash you find, such as what brand it is, what type (food packaging, etc.), and report the information to tSoSP. You can also tweet the companies if you want - I love their examples that say things like, "Hey, company, is this yours?"
If you have friends or family who admire you doing a #litterwalk, but won't join you because touching trash grosses them out, maybe you can recruit them to be your log keeper and write down the info while you walk!
