Some of my shell art.

I think I mentioned in passing my current fascination with painting & drawing on shells. I had seen this idea posted on Pinterest & akways meant to give it a try but didn't get around to it until recovering from my first & following surgeries. I couldn't find my sketch pad to do water color stuff but had come across two bags of small shells. I figured there was no time like the present to give the Pinterest idea a try.
Trying turned into practicing with one color & patterns to multiple colors. Now pretty much anything goes. If I can draw it, it's going on a shell!
The picture above is of two that are part of a group of 8. I'm now doing various themes & designs. This series was a paisley nature print.
I've done color themes previously & tonight I've been doing nature scenes on tiny little shells.
Currently I work with permanent colored markers but you can use acrylic paints & some other medias.
I actually intend to try this with acrylics but keep on working with markers. In part this is due to convenience. I can easily throw some shells into my purse with a few markers, & take it along to a Drs appointment & work on them while in the waiting room.
Acrylics & paints are much more stationary, requiring water & brushes. Not really something easily packed for on the go.

I apologize that the photos aren't the greatest. I hope to complete 9 or 10 in these little shells.
In cancer news, I actually got a little good news this week. My breast cancer is stage 2 & has not spread anywhere else. Further treatment will start in around 4 weeks. Right now, it's hurry up & wait while my body heals from the lump-ectomy & other procedures.
Well...my shells are calling. Back to it!
