Accept What 'Is' (and run with it)

There are some things about the way the world (or business or life or whatever) goes that we just have to live with - and get on with it.

Take 'Brexit' in the UK right now, there are folk spending hours analysing the ins-and-outs of every scenario - moaning about the potential consequences and generally getting themselves in a right flap about it. Now, don't get me wrong, I accept that Brexit is a fairly huge event for the UK (so I've probably picked a bad example to make my point!) but, in my view, there are too many entrepreneurs and business owners that are losing sight of what is within their control to run and grow their businesses.

How many times might Brexit be cited as the cause of business failures in the future...? Some legitimate, many not so much...

In a nutshell, people often seem to focus so intensely on the macro-level (politics, economics etc) that they lose sight of the micro-level i.e. those aspects that are within their control.

There are certain factors that are beyond our control. End of. We need to deal with the cards that we are dealt. Uncertainty is never easy (ala Brexit!) but we need to be adaptive and work our way through - step by step. Sometimes we just need to accept the world the way it is and stop trying to mold it into something else that might be more palatable - however, tempting a prospect that might be.

We just need to accept what is - and run with it!
