American football meets Mortal Combat move over MMA and hockey this takes bigger balls and guts
By far one of the most painful sports out there I don’t think Aztecs could have come up with something so brutal.
Do these guys carry Spartan DNA?
When I stumbled upon this browsing some of my FB friends news feeds I was like, no.? this ain’t real but it is.
”Florence is famous for its beautiful churches and Renaissance art masterpieces, but the Tuscan city is also home to a bone-crunchingly brutal form of football. In the sport of Calcio Storico Fiorentino, which originated in the 16th century, headbutting, punching, elbowing, and choking are allowed – and only sucker punches and kicks to the head are banned.”

I would not want to be on duty when that breaks out. If you thought riots after a soccer match in Europe was brutal check the post I linked above, even the audience is down with MMA.
As long as the ball is in play opposing players can tackle and get into real MMA style fights all without any protective equipment, the only protection you get are your own fists and feet.
I can only imagine the recovery time after a match. Most MMA fights last minutes and don’t require running across a mud soaked field. Only getting blood and sweat in your eyes in the octagon while these Calcio Storico player get that and mud, probably blinding sunshine on a sunny summer day, sun burn anyone?
These guys are warriors at another level. You wanna sign up?
