I'm doing a 6 parter on the 6 forks of Bitcoin. Mostly fact, but LOTS of opinion and all in jest (this is a comedic piece, don't sue me) - you've been warned!
Bitcoin Cash
BCH (pronounced 'bish') was cynically forked by money grubbing monsters at block 478559, 1 August 2017. God pretty much spat out his coffee, and from that point the crypto world was forever divided between the true HODLers of BTC, & the evil &/or stupid minions of Bish.
Just like in Star Wars or Harry Potteror any fiction where there's a evil character behind all the chaos - there is one behind Bish.
Vader? No.. Voldemort? No.. Ver? Bingo.
Ver is a genius - the evil genius behind Bish. Using his large BTC hodlings & the fact he owns bitcoin.com -Ver was able to fund the engineering of Bish. Since that point we've seen Bish promoted by Ver 24/7, making appearances al over the media & making claims like (to paraphrase) 'Bitcoin is dead - Bish is bitcoin'. To the point where exchanges had to change their labelling of Bish from 'Bitcoin cash' to 'Bcash' because everyone could see what was going on.
Of course lots of money has been made & the market cap looks incredible - but in reality it's an attempt by one dude to take over & centralise & own all of Bitcoin under the guise of fixing it - but finding something that isn't yours & 'improving' it doesn't make it yours, which is what the Bishers know but don't understand - they will pretty soon though - we saw proof of this when SegWit2 didn't happen - but that's for a later post.
Bish doesn't appear to have much is a future though (hooray) as all the capabilities it promised to add to Bitcoin will actually ba added to Bitcoin.
What will happen to Bish? Hard to say - it's like herpes at this point - it's out there & may be hard to remove, but with time & sufficient technological advances, we may be rid of this particularly nasty chapter in BTC's history.
