"To me, DIY means minimizing dependency on what others make for me". --- Fumio Sasaki
It is true that the COVID-19 pandemic has caused a drastic shift in the world economy. The majority of office workers are now working from home, hence doubling the number of individuals working from home as reported by The Wall Street Journal.
However, as more and more people start working from home, the majority of them will need to switch their current business model in seeking to aim the market to meet the needs of consumers and continued sales. Working from home will eventually make them resourceful and inventive, as such, some will venture into DIY and How-to projects to help the process.
Other than the monetary value of DIY projects, it helps our immune system and also as a form of exercise. Reason being there's always something you'll want to fix or take care of and this keeps our brain and mind busy and vigilant.
On the other hand, you learn to manage your time effectively. At the end of the day, you become a master of time management. That's not all, you'll be bold and confident to handle any task thrown at you, which ultimately boost-strap profession life at work.
The path to becoming a DIY practitioner goes beyond the monetary benefit, it's about your growth, independence, etc. Doing things yourself has nothing to do with being selfish or greedy, it's equally accepting a life of responsibility, fulfillment and freedom.
In summary, always remember life is an art. Do well to make it your masterpiece.
