This post had been delayed- again! The story behind is that, this is not the original figurine that I intend to make. I picked this thing more than a week ago- much, much, earlier than when I made the popsicle figurines but I got stuck.
I had always have this idea of making a box of chocolates and then a teddybear as a valentine's figurine. But the thing is, when I finished making the box of chocolates, I just do not know where to go from there.
This thing had been hanging around on my tile for awhile- waiting its turn to be finished and baked. I have made a lot of figurines, baked, posted them and even loved them. But the big elephant in the room gets left behind.
Finally, I had a bit of a think on what I wanted to make.Easter had just gone and the divine mercy sunday- which is one of the most important sundays in my life should always be observed.
I do not feel very Valentiney( if there is such a thing as that) right now. So, I decided to scrap the whole lot and make a kissing figurine instead. Why a kissing figurine- isn't that what people are doing in Valentine's celebrating their love- so yeah- they kiss- A LOT! no judgement here!
Here is how I made the first figurine. I should call this as my "warm up" piece because, well, I was still trying to get the concept in my mind.
I am still using the drawing technique again. I am unsure on how I will sculpt the eyes so I did this.
The flower is just a piece of clay
that I rolled to make this.
Then I got extremely creative and thought, why not put leaves and flowers on the bear? Just to make it a bit different.
There is no pre/ post bake looks on this because these are just air dry clay. So here is how it looks like.
Then I decided to make another one just cause I had so much fun making the first one.
I started with the body and a toothpick.
I made the crude body.
Making the face....
Then the flowers.
This is how it looks like. The flowers were basically made in different ways- by mould, cookie cutter and some were made by hand.
Another look on my creations.......
