https://steemit.com/original-content/@rootingrobert/components-of-happiness-featuring-china-market
A day in the life of a young man in China:
After a night of Warcraft 3 at the internet cafe, we visit a giant Chinese indoor flea market and peruse the items for sale. This article is packed with photos and commentary.
Curiosity Science Contest Response #1 - The Rise And Fall Of A Star (An Educational Dialogue)
takes us on an interstellar journey beyond the blue and into the inner-most depths of our minds.
We join two wild-haired trolls called X31 and X42 and listen in on their educational dialogue about the cosmos. They discuss some of the most out-of-this-world concepts about the lifespan of stars, beginning with star-dust, proto-stars, red giants, white-dwarfs and black-holes.
It is said, that when a black-hole reaches singularity (where the laws of physics no longer apply), mass is drawn into a fourth dimensional sub-reality that is irrelevant to our time and space.
Woah, dude. Stardust!
Kopi luwak: the most expensive coffee of the world is made from wild cat feces!!!
I heard about a coffee that was processed through a feline digestive tract and considered very exclusive and sought after.
Of course I thought it was disgusting. So I wasn’t sure what to expect in this article. Were we going to giggle and point at the ‘poop coffee’?
That answer is unequivocally NO. This is a well researched and written article. We learn about HOW going through the digestive tract of the Asian Palm Civet changes the chemistry of the bean.
We also learn about how this delightful creature is being abused in order to create more beans. It is heartbreaking.
Honestly, this is a well written and thought out piece and coffee lover or no, you would be better off having read the words from !
Thank you for sharing!
BigFin Squid: Creepy, Alien-Like Terror From the Deep
https://steemit.com/animals/@trumpman/bigfin-squids-creepy-alien-like-terror-from-the-deep
While some folks try to make plans for colonizing other planets, we are often reminded of how little we know our own.
Meet an example: the Bigfin Squid, a mysterious creature yet to be captured and studied even in this age when we think we know everything there is to know about Earth and it's denizens.
In this post (part of a series documenting strange animals), videos and links are provided from some of the very few recorded sightings of this eerily beautiful deep-sea dweller. <
Understanding Depth of Field: The factors that affect DoF
I’m a big fan of photography. I took a class once but life got in the way and I don’t remember a single thing, so when I came across this post, I put it aside for when my mind was clear and I had some time to really study it.
I’m glad I did! This article is chock-full of really great information and gorgeous pictures. Once again, I don’t feel right about using ’s original pictures on this Digest, however, if you are a photography fan and simply never understood what a F~stop is, this is the article for you!
