Hi! I am Candace, I own a continually growing rabbit organization called HappyHare. We show, rescue, and raise rabbits. We also have a huge online rabbit community/socialmedia where rabbit owners from all over the world can talk about their bunnies and get advice on their care. We believe in fixing and house training rabbits. Rabbits are naturally very active and social animals, to be locked a cage by themselves their whole life is cruel. Most people do not know that rabbits can be house trained like cats to use a litter box. They are very easy to litter train as long as they have been spayed or neutered. This part is very important. Rabbits are prone to cancer and will probably not live past five years of age of they are not fixed. If they are they can easily live up to 14. Rabbits are also very territorial animals, just like a cat or dog once they get to 6 months if age their hormones start acting up. Females will get aggressive and males will spray, this in when they should go in to the vet to get it done. Most of my rescues come from situations where their owners do not understand this principle and assume their bunny is just mean and either dump their bunny or hand them over to me. Before I adopt out any bunny I always make sure the new owner understands basic rabbit care and that they will fix and house train their bunny.
