I am going to up vote this because I'm not a hater. I disagree. A business plan is a bad idea. I should know I own a very successful business. How about, "you better be competent", or "you better work your ass off because your business plan just got thrown out the window the first time you came up short on cashflow" and if your a start up cashflow problems won't take very long to find you. That's reality. A bunch of geeks sitting around putting shit on paper doesn't start a business. A person that knows what the fuck their doing already has the plan and whenever your a badd ass you get work. nice sentiments though.
