As I've mentioned on Steemit before, I'm loving Amazon Merch. I upload my t-shirt designs, Amazon does all the hard work, and I get paid. However, I'm only earning about $200 a month. But my friend, Dan O'Donnell, has been "Merching" for 3 months more than me and is making over $1000 per month on the platform.
So I caught up with Dan in Phuket, Thailand, and got him to sit down and tell me his secrets.
So, how do you make money on Merch?
Here are a few pointers about the above interview.
The more you upload, the more you learn
It's baffling, boring and frustrating at the beginning so you've got to get over that initial hump. Upload to other POD (Print on Demand sites) to get a taste for the t-shirts: Sunfrog, Redbubble, Zazzle, Cafepress, Teespring, Spreadshirt, Teepuplic. That's in the order of importance.
These designs do well:
- Distressed designs
- Light, colorful designs on dark shirts
- Silhouettes
- High contrast colors
- Active, action "characters"
However, don't stress on the above, just keep at it
Keep uploading to Amazon. If you can't upload there, upload on the other sites!!
Don't overthink things
This is a perfect online business in many ways. It doesn't cost you anything. So you may as well do it.
