I love when Gary Vaynerchuk posts actionable strategies. It makes a nice change from the motivational crap he's been doing since he started DailyVee. His latest one is what he's calling his $1.80 Instagram growth strategy, where you basically put your 2 cents on the top 9 posts for 10 hashtags in your niche ($0.02x9x10=$1.80), every day.
He kiiiinda covers it in this vid, but like most of his DailyVee videos there's 13:31 minutes of airports and wandering the street and I couldn't find where he actually describes the strategy
Where he actually describes the strategy is in this post on GaryVaynerchuk.com, and it basically comes down to this:
- Find 10 hashtags relevant to your niche
- For the top 9 posts on each of those hashtags, write a genuine/engaging comment (more than just "nice post!" which people are used to seeing from bots)
- Repeat daily
Then, and he kind of mentions this, but it gets lost a bit in the quick maths version, go and engage with people that are engaging on those posts. Go to the profiles of people who have commented/liked the top posts on your hashtags, and comment/like their photos.
The idea is you'll catch the attention of people who are not only engaging with content in your niche, but who also have a default behaviour that is more likely to engage in the first place. This will not only help you create a super loyal, engaging following, but the longtail of it is that you'll get a lot more organic growth.
