In this video series we'll cover MUST read business books for ambitious entrepreneurs.
Our first book is The Emyth Revisited by Michael E Gerber.
This is an absolute classic for all budding and existing entrepreneurs as it explains exactly where most business owners go wrong!
The spoiler alert is that most business founders are "technicians" (aka already successful at "doing" the job in hand) so accountants set up their own accountancy practice (I can relate!); lawyers set up legal firms; chefs set up their own restaurants and the list goes on....
So it becomes all too easy for technicians to "do" the "doing" in making and delivering the products or services and so "working IN the business" rather than focusing on "working ON the business".
I re-read this book every couple of years to remind myself about the key points and pearls of wisdom and it would definitely make it into my top 10 of all-time great business books.
