One cannot both feast and become rich. ~ Ashanti Proverb
It takes strategic planning and consistency to get and maintain wealth. When you make profit in your little biz or a few steem dollars here on the platform, the urge to spend it up and later go work for more may be high. The difference between wealthy people and average people is in how they put their money to use. An average man spends what he has, a wealthy man or a to-be wealthy man invests what he has. A lesson my dad taught me early in life was to never spend everything you have. He believed that the new should meet the old and the old in return should generate the new, before it can be considered disposable.
The bible has a story about servants who were given talents( money in our case) to keep by their master who was going on a journey. The servant who hid his talents instead of putting it into profitable use, was punished by his master upon his return. The others who made profit we're appreciated and rewarded. The master said to the foolish servant that since he had no reason to put the talent to work, he could have kept it with the banks and received interest for his master in return.(Matt 25:14-30)This is to say that even God desires profitability if your christian as I am. You can make use of one of many passive streams of income if you don't know how to actively put your money to work.
