Definition
“The way” in this context means any vital information and knowledge you possess that made you successful in a particular terrain. This vital information and knowledge we are talking about are not your workplace ‘secret recipes’ such as propriety and sensitive information. It’s the regular hustle and stuff we deal with in our day-to-day life. Here are some examples for clarification;
- You know a social network that rewards people for sharing their ;)
- Tips on how to get a good deal on merchandise and bookings among others. I will share tips on how to get a good a deal when booking your next flight in my upcoming post, so stay tuned ;)
- You know some tips on how to get a hold of the cryptocurrency market.
- You’re a ladies man
- Summarily, things like financial, religious and educational key insights are what we’re talking about.
All the things I listed above are vital information/knowledge you can share with your friends to impact their lives positively and financially.

Now that you get the idea of what the ‘way’ means, let’s talk about why we need to show our friends the way. Those examples I stated are the kind of things you share with your loved ones. As you can see, you’re not going to lose anything and you’ve probably impacted someone’s life in return.
I’ve always been a firm believer in information and knowledge sharing. There is no way I will hide vital information that I know will benefit my friends and family. When I was introduced to Steemit by last month, I decided to inform my clique about it in our group chat, immediately. Since then, I’ve been preaching about steemit to family members, friends and acquaintances.
The main reasons I believe some people hoard vital information that can benefit their peers are;
- Insecurity: They’re afraid of their friends being more successful than they are.
- Negative feedback: some people don’t take criticism or negative feedbacks lightly. Maybe they have tried it in the past and the feedback they got was discouraging and/or alarming in some cases.
Why you should show your friends the way
- When you share your knowledge with people it helps you grow and sometimes you’ll be amazed by something they’d offer to teach you in return.
- It helps you to stay motivated by pushing you to acquire more and get better at you do.
- You will gain more exposure and your peers will recognize you as a valuable individual which can help build your reputation.
- I think sharing valuable insights that can change one’s life is an act of kindness and God will surely reward you for it.
Rationale
Showing your friends the way is a selfless-service, meaning no one will blame you for not doing so and it can also backfire in some cases. So think about it carefully before committing.
It’s not easy. You’ve to be patient with your friends because you have to tutor/lecture them until they get the information/knowledge you’re sharing.
It’s strategic, you should be able to identify and evaluate who/what/when in case you want to show people the way.
Some of your friends just don’t want you to show them the way, they prefer the gifts you brought from your destination and it’s totally okay.
